Japan 2026 Global Teacher trip was absolutely phenomenal! From the day we landed, to the day we had to say our goodbyes. The entire program was so organised and we had the most amazing team leader Rianna, who honestly made the trip so comfortable and enjoyable! She provided daily schedules and important information in advanced. We were so lucky to have private transfers everywhere we went, and experiencing the bullet train was epic! This was my first time to Japan and it won’t be my last. Thanks to this trip I have fallen in love with the culture, food, the people, lifestyle, schooling and so much more! I was so grateful for our school visits along with the wonderful communication and great accommodation provided. Though some rooms were quite cosy, it made the Japan experience, which I loved!! Always good locations. I will never forget the incredible temple visits, feeding the deer in Nara and engaging in so much culture. Going during Cherry Blossom season was the cherry on top. I also made some wonderful friends on the trip who I now keep in contact with on a regular basis. I’ll definitely be returning to Japan and booking another Global Teacher Trip soon! If a GT Japan trip is on your mind, definitely do it!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Japan Education and Culture tour which had a good balance of tours and free time to explore this beautiful country. Our team leader and tour guide were caring, supportive and approachable. As a first time overseas traveller, I had an excellent experience and would love to return to Japan one day!

This tour to Japan exceeded all expectations and was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. From the energy of Tokyo to the traditional beauty of Kyoto, every aspect of the journey was thoughtfully planned and expertly delivered. The opportunity to experience Japan’s culture—its respect, reverence, temples, shrines, and daily life—was a true highlight, alongside unique experiences such as the Shinkansen and school visits. The professionalism and communication from the company, tour leader Ri, and local guide Grace were outstanding. Clear, consistent updates ensured we always knew what was happening and could fully maximise each day. Their knowledge, organisation, and commitment added immense value to the tour. Accommodation throughout the trip exceeded expectations, being more spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed than anticipated. Cultural experiences, including traditional food and guided tours, were authentic, engaging, and memorable. The inclusion of downtime also allowed for personal exploration, which greatly enhanced the experience. While the tour was overwhelmingly positive, it is important to note that a very small number of participants negatively impacted the group at times. Ongoing lateness, failure to follow clear instructions, and disruptive behaviour created unnecessary frustration for others and occasionally affected the smooth running of the itinerary. However, this was limited to a small minority and should not reflect the group as a whole. Overall, this was a professionally run, enriching, and highly rewarding experience. The friendships formed, the cultural immersion, and the seamless organisation made this a tour I would highly recommend to others.

We loved our trip to Japan with Global Teacher. The tour ran exactly as advertised and our tour guide, Rianna, was phenomenal. The trip was planned with the perfect balance of opportunities to explore at your own pace while also offering whole group activities. The accommodation in all three cities was of a high-quality and conveniently located. The provision of an English speaking tour guide from Japan also significantly enhanced our overall experience. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

As my fourth Global Teacher Program, Komodo was nothing short of amazing. It was an incredibly rewarding and fulfilling week, with a good balance of sight-seeing and adventuring, collaborating in a local school and also having some relaxation and down time. The teaching team was fantastic; we made beautiful connections across the program, and both supported each other, and had so much fun. I loved my experience teaching in a local secondary school with an English Teacher, I was able to observe, and then team-teach and co-plan to support her with her personal teaching goals. We did a team-teaching Professional Development workshop with 50 local teachers, and this was a wonderful opportunity, the local teachers brought so much enthusiasm and interest in developing their practices and engaged beautifully. Alongside this, we got to sail onboard a boat for Komodo National Park, and were so lucky to have most of the destinations to ourselves. It was a phenomenal experience, trekking, snorkelling and seeing Komodo dragons in the flesh. During the week, we explored a local cave, sunset lookout locations, visiting the beautiful Melo village to learn about traditional culture and exploring the coastline. I also made the most of massages throughout. I cannot more highly recommend any of the Global Teacher programs, for the wealth of support leading up to the trip, to the program itself, after now teaching in Thailand, Bali-Lovina, Bali-Green and Komodo, it's such an amazing experience to have the privilege of travelling, engaging in local culture from a deeper perspective and contributing to global education in places that really need it, in a sustainable way.
